SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (KSTU) – A quarterback who gave up his chance to play for the Sooners may spend part of this season on the bench in Utah.

In February, Kendal Thompson announced that he would be transferring to the University of Utah.

Experts say Thompson’s decision came after Trevor Knight emerged as the starting quarterback for OU.

Thompson graduated from the University of Oklahoma in May and enrolled at the University of Utah as a graduate student.

However, it seems he may spend this season on the bench.

On Monday, the university announced Travis Wilson as the starting quarterback over Thompson.
