GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Battling Barons have finally been sent home to start their summer vacation.

Oklahoma City’s triple-A hockey club rallied a few times before losing to Grand Rapids 5-4 in the 7th and deciding game of their American Hockey League playoff series Wednesday night in Michigan.

With the win, Grand Rapids advances to the AHL’s Calder Cup finals against the Syracuse Crunch, while the Barons season comes to a close.

OKC trailed 1-0 less than a minute into the game before the Barons battled back.

OKC had four different goal-scorers and Yann Danis stopped 28 of the 33 shots that came his way in-goal.

But Grand Rapids scored the eventual game-winner with just over 6-minutes to play and held on for the series win and the chance to play for the AHL title.
