Gundy & 11 Cowboys, 9 Sooners Honored by Big 12 Coaches

The All-Big 12 football awards as voted on by league coaches were released on Thursday, with 11 different Oklahoma State players earning honors and 9 different Oklahoma players, plus OSU coach Mike Gundy was named the Big 12 Coach of the Year.

Joining Gundy in winning individual awards was Collin Oliver, who won Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year, and running back Jaylen Warren, who won Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year.

It’s the second time Gundy has won Big 12 Coach of the Year, also winning it in 2010.

Warren joins Tyreek Hill in 2014 and Adarius Bowman in 2006 as Cowboys to win the offensive newcomer of the year award.

Oliver joins Shaun Lewis in 2010 and Andre Sexton in 2006 as Cowboys to win the defensive newcomer award.

Oklahoma State had six players make first team All-Big 12 and four made second team.

Oklahoma had two make first team and seven made second team.
