Former Heavy Weight Champion of the World, Tommy Morrison, has died at the age of 44.

Morrison’s promoter said he died Monday night at a Nebraska hospital with his wife by his side.

Authorities have not released why he died though Morrison’s health has been deteriorating in recent years.

In 1996, the athlete tested positive for HIV twice, though he denied having the disease.

The boxer was born Arkansas but grew up in Oklahoma.

Morrison’s biggest victory was in 1993 when he defeated George Foreman in a 12-round bout to win the Heavy Weight title.
