UPDATE 6/9/14 4:47pm : Reports are surfacing that the Thunder’s Derek Fisher is finalizing a 5 year, 25 million dollar deal making him the new head-coach of the New York Knicks.

Multiple national sources from The Daily News, Bleacher Report and Yahoo! reporters believe this announcement could come soon.

Yahoo! Sports reports sources have confirmed the deal.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The New York Knicks will “ramp up” their pursuit of Derek Fisher and are expected to make him their next head coach, according to an ESPN report.

The report also states that Knicks president and Fisher’s old head coach, Phil Jackson, has been “fully focused” on making the 39-year-old the team’s new head coach.

One source close to the talks told ESPN’s Mark Stein on Monday that “things could take shape quickly in the early part of the week.”

According to Stein’s sources, the Knicks only fear is if Fisher decides to continue his playing career.

The 18 year veteran guard’s latest contract with the Thunder ended after this season.
