Long before diving into the OU record books Dede Westbrook says he out-talented the competition at his Texas junior college, and that getting to today has been nothing but a serious process.

"That was the reason why I was so effective in junior college," Westbrook, an OU senior wide receiver, said.  "But then you come over to division one football, and everyone has the exact same mindset and talent that you have.  Therefore you have to work more on technique than just your talent."
Injuries sidelined several Sooners against Texas, but the subs symbolized an OU motto they take pride in.
"We always have that chant, 'we too deep,' that basically goes in to what happened this past Saturday.  We had two guys get injured.  We needed those guys to step up, and that's exactly what happened.  They did a good job doing it."
Seeing an old friend is always a good thing.
It's been well documented that Bob Stoops spent seven seasons at Kansas State as an assistant for Bill Snyder.
Stoops says the two try to get together whenever they can, but when it comes to coaching against one another it's not quite the same feeling.
In fact Oklahoma is the only current Big 12 school with a winning record against the Wildcats.
"No I don't enjoy coaching against Coach Snyder's teams,"  Bob Stoops, OU head football coach, said.  "They're too good all the time.  I got great admiration and respect for coach, and I loved my time there.  I say it all the time those were a great seven years that I was there.  I learned a ton being there from the ground up.  I don't think anybody still has an idea how down that program was when we all walked in there.  So learned a great deal, and you still have great friendships there."
