DALLAS, Texas - Bob Stoops kicked off Day 2 of the Big 12 Football Media Days with a glowing report of his Sooners,

Stoops said that their strength coach Jerry Schmidt hasn't been happier than he is this year with offseason workouts.

One of the big topics addressed was the addition of former Missouri Wide Receiver Dorial Green-Beckham. Stoops mentioned that he's in the process of appealing to play this season, but the NCAA has yet to rule on that.

OU lost their 3 primary running backs last season (Damien Williams, Brennan Clay and Roy Finch) but the winningest head coach in Oklahoma history isn't concerned with the talent in the backfield at all.

Stoops did squash all rumors of Blake Bell returning as quarterback at anytime next season. He said Bell was recruited as a QB, but has now turned into the prototypical tight end. Bell has a familiarity to the position since his dad played tight end in the NFL for 8 years.

All in all, the head coach seemed excited with the progress his team has made heading into the 2014 season, especially after that impressive win over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.
