Former OU basketball player Terry Evans took over the Edmond North High School basketball program this week and sat down to talk about the new job with the KFOR sports team.
Evans says he believes that, "Edmond North basketball is potentially the best high school job in the state."
He comes to Edmond North after spending the last 13 seasons as the head basketball coach at the University of Central Oklahoma.
This isn't Evans' first high school head coaching job.
The former Sooner sharpshooter led Midwest City High School to a 100-11 record and three state titles in four years as the Bombers head coach.
The former Millwood High School star says the biggest draw to taking the Edmond North job was the chance to coach his son, Tre, who will be a senior next year.
Tre has already committed to play college basketball at Oklahoma State.
Evans said he had several other job offers but the locations weren't exactly what his family wanted.
