With both teams playing with heavy hearts, the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the New Orleans Pelicans 121-95 on Thursday night, February 11, at Chesapeake Arena in Oklahoma City.

Thunder assistant coach Monty Williams' wife Ingrid died on Wednesday, and so it was an emotional game for both the Thunder and for the Pelicans, where Williams was the head coach before coming to OKC.

Ingrid Williams was in a car accident Tuesday night in south Oklahoma City and died Wednesday from the injuries.

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook both had 23 points, with Westbrook nearly getting a triple double with 10 assists and 9 rebounds.

Serge Ibaka added 18 points, while Enes Kanter had 11 and Anthony Morrow 10.

The Thunder led by 9 at halftime, then took control in the third quarter to pull away for the easy win.

OKC made 52 percent of its shots and outrebounded New Orleans 50-31.

It was the Thunder's ninth straight home win and they improved to 40-14 on the season.

With the All-Star break coming this weekend, the Thunder won't play again until Friday, February 19, when they host Indiana.
