The Oklahoma City Thunder led by as many as 15 points in the third quarter, but couldn’t off the Dallas Mavericks, losing at the American Airlines Center 119-115 on Monday night in Dallas.
The Thunder committed 21 turnovers in the game, which offset a 22-rebound advantage over the Mavs.
Dallas started the game on a 9-0 run, but OKC controlled the rest of the half, taking a 63-53 lead to halftime before building the lead to 15 early in the third quarter.
The Mavericks scored 39 points in the third and held off OKC late, led by 31 points from Chandler Parsons.
Monta Ellis added 24 points and Dirk Nowitzki had 22 for the Mavs.
The Thunder were once again led by Russell Westbrook, who had 24 points, 12 assists, and 8 rebounds.
Two Thunder players had double-doubles, with Enes Kanter scoring 19 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, and Mitch McGary with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Steven Adams and Dion Waiters were both in double figures as well with 15 points each.
The Thunder were once again without Kevin Durant, as he continues to nurse his sore foot, and Serge Ibaka, who missed his third straight game with a sore knee.
The Thunder announced earlier Monday Ibaka would be seeing a specialist in New York about the knee and ESPN reported he would have surgery done on it.
OKC dropped to 37-30 on the season and will host Boston on Wednesday night at 7:00 at Chesapeake Arena.
