It was the tale of two halves for the Thunder in their season opening loss to the Portland Trail Blazers 106-89.

OKC managed a five point halftime lead thanks to impressive play by Russell Westbrook and upstart newbie Lance Thomas off the bench.

Westbrook led all scored with 38 points, going 15 of 16 from the stripe.

Thomas had 14, 12 of which came in the first half.

The Thunder trailed by two heading into the final quarter but were outscored 31-12 in the final stanza.

Three point shooting proved to be a real challenge as the Thunder shot a messy 2 of 16 from behind the arc.

Six Trail Blazers finished in double figures, scoring 20 points off of Thunder turnovers.

Oklahoma City’s brutal schedule continues tonight on the road against the Clippers.
