A gritty, determined effort by the Thunder fell short as OKC dropped their second game in as many days to the Clippers 93-90.

Serge Ibaka missed a 3 pointer as time expired, but still scored 17.

However the big story is the injury to Russell Westbrook.

Westbrook appeared to get his hand caught in a jersey in the second quarter, went to the locker room and never returned to the game.

He appeared on the bench in the third quarter with ice and an ace bandage on his right hand.

Scott Brooks said after the game that Westbrook has “small fracture in his right hand.”

There’s no word on if he will miss time or how much.

The Thunder won’t meet the media Friday to discuss the injury because they are spending the night in Los Angeles.

Perry Jones fired a career high 32 points in the loss. His previous career high in high school and college was 27.

Former Sooner Blake Griffin paces the Clippers in their season opener with 23 points while Chris Paul added 22.

The Thunder drop to 0-2 this season with their home opener this Saturday at the Peake against Denver at 7.
