OKLAHOMA CITY — The National Basketball Association released its entire 2015-16 schedule on Wednesday, August 12. The Oklahoma City Thunder will start and finish the season against the same team, the rival San Antonio Spurs.
OKC will open the season at home against the Spurs on Wednesday, October 28, at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN.
The Thunder will close the regular season on Tuesday, April 12, at San Antonio at 7:00. That game will be shown on TNT.
The Thunder will play in 33 nationally televised games, including a Christmas Day game on ABC at home against Chicago at 1:30 pm.
The Thunder will play six games that could be considered “day” games, the rest are evening tipoffs.
OKC’s longest homestand comes during the holidays; a four-game homestand running from Christmas Day to New Year’s Eve, featuring Chicago, Denver, Milwaukee, and Phoenix.
The Thunder’s longest road trip is four games as well, and that will happen three times during the season.
The end of the season is not kind to OKC, as they play 10 of their last 15 – and 15 of their last 23 games – on the road.
The Thunder will welcome the reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors just once this season, hosting them Feb. 27.
They’ll host Eastern Conference champion Cleveland and Cavaliers star LeBron James just once as well, six days earlier, on Feb. 21.
