VIDEO: Sooner Assistant Reflects On Coaching Career

After 42 seasons of coaching football, OU assistant football coach Bobby Jack Wright announced his retirement on Tuesday, January 13.

Wright was with Bob Stoops from the day he took over at OU, 16 football seasons ago.

The Mission, Texas native coached defensive ends, defensive backs and special teams while at OU.

Before joining the Sooners staff, Wright spent 12 years as an assistant at the University of Texas from 1986-97.

It's been rumored that Wright may take an administrative job with the football program now that he's retired.

On the note of possibly taking such a job, Wright said he'd "entertain that."
