An untapped area.

That`s how Glenn Spencer described San Antonio`s high school football scene before OSU started recruiting it.

Now six cowboys call the Texas town home.

For them, bragging rights will be on the line Saturday versus UTSA. 'It`s always fun,' Jordan Sterns, OSU safety and San Antonio native, said. 'UTSA they`re a great program coming up. They`re starting to compete with Arizona and us. It`s definitely going to bring some bragging rights when we go back home and visit.'

Vincent Taylor says playing well against Texas schools is a point of pride for guys from the Lone Star statement.
A sentiment his head coach shares. 'It`s always good for those guys to compete against teams from that part of the state,' Mike Gundy, OSU head coach, said. 'We get a lot of young men that come and play here because we play so many schools from the state of Texas. We certainly need all those guys to make plays.'

OSU Defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer has a host of starters and contributors on his defense from the Alamo City. As for the secret for success for Texas high school football, he says, it`s actually a lot similar to OSU`s. 'Wherever you commit your resources at or emphasis you tend to be good at,' Spencer said. 'Same here. Why was the turn here? Because some very generous people committed the resources to it, and said this is important to us, these are expectations. It`s the same way for high school ball down there.'

'The fan bases are crazy,' Vincent Taylor, OSU defensive tackle and San Antonio native, said. 'The pep rallies. With how they travel with charter buses in high school. When I first saw that it shocked me. You usually ride a school bus, but to get on a charter bus as a high school football player that`s pretty awesome.'
