News Channel 4 Sports has learned Oklahoma State forward Brian Williams will not return to the Cowboys for his senior season and intends to transfer.

Williams will graduate at the end of this semester, and can transfer to another school without having to sit out a season.

Williams had a disappointing season for OSU and saw his playing time diminish late in the season as he was replaced in the starting lineup by guard Phil Forte.

Williams is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and was expected to be a key returnee for the Cowboys after a disappointing season.

Marcus Smart has already announced intentions to make himself eligible for the NBA Draft this summer, and OSU’s other star, Markel Brown, was a senior last year.

Williams’ departure is not the only change involving the OSU men’s basketball program.

Sources have told News Channel 4 assistant coach Steve Middleton will not return to the staff next season.

Middleton has been on head coach Travis Ford’s staff all six seasons at Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma State has not made an official announcement on either Williams or Middleton.
