Another week, another honor for Trae Young. Young has been named Big 12 Player of the Week for his 29 points and 10 assists in Oklahoma’s upset win over the third ranked Wichita State on Saturday.

Young became the first player since Johnny Flynn in 2009 to score more than 25 points and 10 assists in a game against an AP top three ranked team. Young’s honor is the fifth in the first six weeks of the season.

He wasn’t the only one to earn an honor. Teammate Brady Manek was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week. Manek dropped 21 points in the Wichita State win.

It’s the first time since 2015 two teammates have swept the player of the week honors by the conference.

Next up for Oklahoma, the Sooners host Northwestern State on Tuesday.
